Overview of NAA Membership Types

Newspaper Membership

NAA Members represent newspapers in the U.S. and around the world - dailies and weeklies, community-based and nationally focused, in large cities or small towns – who share a quality and continuity in their product. Through standards set by the NAA Board of Directors, Member newspapers are published at least one time per week, bear a 25% editorial content of both local and general interest and carry a minimum of 70 percent paid circulation.

NAA fosters strength and unity in the industry through the "Group Membership" provision, also set forth by the NAA Board of Directors. Two or more qualifying newspapers under common ownership are required to join as a group.

Federation Membership

NAA Federation membership is a learning community of peers and colleagues just like you. Federation membership is an individual membership, providing you exclusive benefits above your company’s corporate-level benefits. Full-time employees from a member newspaper can choose to join one or more of NAA's seven Federations in order to get more out of their NAA membership. Each Federation is focused on a different newspaper industry discipline and each provides specific benefits to its members, including access to premium online resources and services. Annual dues are $95 per federation.
