Boyle is Senior Vice President/Government Affairs for the Newspaper Association of America, the newspaper industry’s largest trade organization, and has been with the Association in various capacities for 17 years. NAA has nearly 2,000 member newspapers in the United States and Canada, the majority of which are daily newspapers that account for approximately 90 percent of the U.S. daily circulation. Boyle manages the legislative and regulatory affairs operation of the NAA, which is involved in many different issues, such as: postal reform, the newspaper-broadcast cross-ownership rule, advertising regulations, and the First Amendment. Prior to joining NAA, Boyle was associate director of government relations for a non-profit housing development corporation and worked for former Representative Tony Coelho. Boyle is a member of the American Society of Association Executives and the Public Affairs Council. He is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara.
