Robert G. Scaife is Vice President Marketing/Smaller Market Newspapers for the Newspaper Association of America. Scaife is responsible for providing sales development services, initiatives and marketing strategies for NAA’s smaller-market newspaper customers. He has been a featured speaker at numerous State Press Association meetings in the United States, the Canadian Newspaper Association annual convention and Russian Press Development Institute in Moscow.

Prior to his current position, Scaife was Director of Automotive & Private Party Advertising. His responsibilities included the development of new sales opportunities in the automotive category, serving as liaison to the automotive industry and for the development of strategies to improve newspaper classified automotive and private party revenues.

Scaife continues to be responsible for NAA’s staff-wide Yellow Pages Seminar. Developed in the fall of 1987, the program has been presented in more than 700 newspaper markets, to more than 10,000 sales and business people in the United States and Canada.

Prior to joining the Newspaper Association of America (formerly the Newspaper Advertising Bureau) in July 1979, spent 13 years with the Hamilton (Ontario) Spectator in retail, national and classified sales and management positions. At the time Scaife joined NAA, he was president of the Northeast Classified Managers Association and third vice president of the Association of Newspaper Classified Advertising Managers.

Scaife graduated from Waterloo (Ontario) University College in 1966 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. He is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario and Queens University Marketing and MBA Management programs and of the American Press Institute program at Columbia University, New York.
