In June, The Chicago Tribune launched a major consumer promotion called “Easy Sunday”. The game was a 4-week contest that utilized a game piece in the collated Sunday ad bag. The overall goals were to increase readership, sales and to promote the value of the collated advertising bag. The Tribune garnered support of their major advertisers and had them participate by offering a prize and allowing the Tribune to use their logo in the mass marketing campaign.
