Marketers who are increasingly interested in what motivates consumer purchasing can now gain insight from this new segmentation data. These snapshots reveal consumer buying attitudes in the areas of: finance, technology, buying styles, food/cooking, health, vacation/travel and automotive purchases. They also provide a quick look at newspaper readership among these segments. Consumers with similar demographics often have different outlooks on products and services. Adults in the same age group and with similar incomes can have very different risk tolerances when it come to investing; or indulge in shopping on different levels; and even have different approaches to kinds of foods they buy and prepare. These segmentation snapshots are designed to help researchers and marketers look just beyond general demographics to understand the lifestyles that affect consumer behavior.
