Each year, the PRESSTIME staff seeks nominations from NAA-member newspapers for the magazine’s popular 20 Under 40 feature. The goal is to assemble a group of people, under the age of 40, who represent the innovative work being done at today’s newspapers, and tell their stories through profiles in the magazine and enhanced content online at www.naa.org.
We’re not trying to compile a Top 20 list. That would be impossible. Instead, we strive to offer a snapshot of people from across most newspaper departments: advertising, circulation, marketing, newsroom, new media and operations.
When brainstorming cover illustration ideas this year, the staff liked the idea of portraying the group as a team, with a faux Super Bowl logo signaling 20 Under 40. Face it, in today’s troubled economic times, at least sports offer a bit of an escape.
Below is our lineup for Team Newspaper 2008. We’re betting they’re winners today and tomorrow.
