Social Networking Timeline Wiki, Comments on Bloggers’ Credibility Sought

Danah Boyd, who is studying social networks at UC Berkeley, has launched a wiki dedicated to tracing the history of social network sites. Boyd told NewAssignment.net in an interview, “There is a lot of collective knowledge, a lot of things other people know that I don’t and I wanted to tap into that.” See the wiki and contribute your knowledge at yasns.pbwiki.com (the password is yasns).

PBS MediaShift blogger Mark Glaser wrote today that conflict of interest rules are a bit fuzzier in the blogosphere than they are in the professional journalism world. Glaser used TechCrunch blogger Mike Arrington, who admitted conflicts of interest in a recent post, as an example. Glaser is collecting comments for a future "Your Take Roundup" column on the question of whether conflicts of interest will cause bloggers to lose credibility – and possibly traffic. Read and contribute comments at MediaShift.
