We couldn't resist joining the end of the year list bandwagon.
But instead of doing our own, we thought we'd point out other people's lists that are worthy of your time. (Bucking the trend, these are in no particular order.)
Nielsen Media Research's Media Trends: Nielsen catalogued 20 separate top 10 lists with interesting headers, including top 10 online advertisers by U.S. dollars (No. 1: Experian owner GUS Plc.), top 10 most cited Wikipedia entries (No. 1: Web 2.0), top Web brands, songs, books, television shows and more.
The Best of 'The Best of 2006' List Lists List: If you're up for a brain teaser, check out Lost Remote's list of the bests lists list. ("But it can be hard to sort out all those list lists, can’t it? Which best list of the best is the best list list?") The Lost Remote lists list include a link to Valleywag's "Top Ten Rules for a Top Ten List," "Top Ten List of Top Ten Lists of Top Ten Online Videos” and more.
Strupp's Top Ten: Editor & Publisher's Joe Strupp presented his annual list of top ten newspaper industry stories. At the top: The Web comes of age! (Hooray!)
Top 10 Mistakes in Web Design: Jakob Nielsen updated his list of top 10 Web design mistakes, including links to lists about top blog mistakes, most violated homepage guidelines, and a fun link to Nielsen's top 10 Web design mistakes list from 10 years ago. (Most of those mistakes have been fixed, he noted.)
Can't-Miss Predictions: Not all lists take a look at the past year. Business 2.0 magazine published a sarcastic (but fully amusing) list of "can't-miss predictions" for 2007. Business 2.0 also has a list of surprise launches and innovations for 2007.
Top Searches: What's a list of lists without ClickZ? The Internet marketing solutions group released the top 10 search terms from Google, Yahoo!, AOL, Lycos, Ask and Microsoft Live.

Happy New Year!
