A non-profit alliance of 29 copyright-related organizations officially launched this week, making its announcement, appropriately, in Washington, Digital Media Wire reported. The Copyright Alliance’s goal is "promoting the value of copyright as an agent for creativity, jobs and growth." Patrick Ross, a former journalist, will be executive director.
Members of the newly formed Copyright Alliance include the Recording Industry Association of America, Motion Picture Association of America, Association of American Publishers, Microsoft, Disney and others.
And speaking of Disney (and the real purpose of this post)...
If you need a break this morning, some brilliant minds at Stanford University released this mash-up video of various Disney characters explaining copyright law.
My favorite part of the first chapter was definitely from “The Little Mermaid,” when the evil Ursula says, “We haven’t discussed the issue of payment. You can’t get something for nothing, you know.”
