Glaser's YourTake Round-Up: The Cup is Overflowing

Respondents largely positive on journalism industry's future

I've been on vacation this week (not really vacationing, but painting the house and finishing repairs from our extensive water damage), but I wanted to point out a few things.

MediaShift's Mark Glaser released his YourTake round-up on whether the journalism industry's glass is half full or half empty. Earlier this month, I wrote the glass is more than half-full and the future of journalism is bright.

It appears I wasn't alone in this thinking. Glaser wrote, "When I put the question to you, MediaShift readers, you largely came out on the positive side of the equation." The conversation is continuing in the comments section of Glaser's blog, and it's worth a read.

On an entirely separate note, the CEO Roundtable at the Newspaper Association of America's Mid-Year Review will be Webcast live today at 3 p.m. ET. Representatives from Gannett, McClatchy, Freedom Communications and NAA will participate. If you can't watch at 3 p.m., the Webcast will remain available for 30 days. For the live Webcast, go to www.midyearmediareview.com/webcast.cfm.
