Bus transportation from Malaga Airport to Granada will be provided during periods of high demand on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, February 4-6.
The Spanish Peseta exchange rate with the U.S. Dollar changes daily. The current rate (as of October 11, 1995) is roughly 123 pesetas to one U.S. dollar. You can exchange money at the airport or at banks during regular business hours (generally 0830 to 1630, Monday - Thursday, and 0830 to 1400 Friday - Saturday). You will probably get a more favorable exchange rate if you change your money before leaving home.
No visas are required for U.S. citizens traveling to Spain if staying less than six months, but each individual will need a current passport. Passports can take several weeks to obtain, and should be procured well in advance.
Spain is six hours ahead of U.S. Eastern Standard Time.
February temperatures in Granada range from daytime highs approaching 60°F (15°C) to nightly lows reaching 36°F (2°C), but area temperatures can vary widely by altitude and season. Pack for warmth.
220 volts AC, 50 Hz.
All conference presentations will be made in English. Simultaneous interpretation into Spanish, French and German will be provided. In Granada, the language spoken is Spanish (Castilian). Although English is widely spoken, it is by no means a given. An effort to speak even a few words in Spanish is usually appreciated.
