We acknowledge there are two main reasons you would attend NEXPO'96:

First, to explore and discover business opportunities in both new and existing technology demonstrated by a diverse selection of over 350 exhibiting companies. Second, to seek solutions to and to share in discussions about common problems with prominent industry colleagues in several sessions of important topical interest.

This year's exhibits will cover systems and machinery related to many facets of the newspaper enterprise including production, information technology, circulation, advertising, editorial and general management areas.

In addition, we have listened to your feedback and we have organized our workshops into seven substantive sessions focused on major areas of current interest and concern to us in today's business climate. These sessions will feature:

• An interesting forum on comparative operations issues in the international arena
• A catch-up on the Connections® meetings, including how to prepare a "Home Page" on the Internet
• Local Area Networking Benefits to your enterprise
• New Technology affecting the acquisition of electronic advertising material and business opportunities using this new media
• How the impact of newsprint costs are changing our business practices, including the case for the 50-inch web
• Managing reproduction quality, especially related to coping with the electronic pre-press environment, and not least
• How to improve productivity and revenue opportunities in the post-press environment with zoning alternatives and computerized planning and scheduling of insert operations.

Our theme this year is to acknowledge that we must continue to learn new technology and ways of doing business, to leverage this knowledge in new business opportunities and to recognize that we must take the lead, and not wait, in implementing these new ideas.
