Andrew Drake was named director of new-media business development for Cox Enterprises Inc., Atlanta. Guy Gilmore was promoted to vice president of production and circulation at The Sun in Baltimore. Jonathan Grayer, president and CEO of The Washington Post Co.’s Kaplan Educational Centers subsidiary, was named chairman and CEO of BrassRing Inc., a Post-Tribune Co. venture. Zack Gaulkin has been appointed as editor of Blethen Maine Newspapers’ MaineToday.com, Portland. James A. Green, The Modesto (Calif.) Bee’s marketing director, was named president and publisher of Nando Media, Raleigh, N.C. Don Kay was named vice president of operations for the Los Angeles Newspaper Group’s Inland Empire unit. He had been production director of The Sun in San Bernadino, Calif. Barbara J. Lewin joined Journal Communications, Milwaukee, as information-technology project manager. Jack McElroy, managing editor of the Rocky Mountain News in Denver, was named Internet general manager. Mike Millsaps, pre-press manager for Copley Chicago Newspapers, takes on new responsibilities involving centralization of production and ad layout. Hillary Schneider, general manager of The Sun in Baltimore, was named president and CEO of Times Mirror Interactive. Digby Solomon was named general manager of Tribune Interactive’s Chicago division. He had served as general manager of Tribune’s South Florida Interactive. Ellen Taus, formerly vice president and treasurer of The New York Times Co., was named chief financial officer of Times Company Digital. Freda Yarbrough was named new-media director at The Advocate, Baton Rouge, La. VendorsJim Hart, former Arizona Republic database-marketing manager, joins ASTech, Denver, to lead consulting services. James Linehan, former managing editor of The Union Leader in Manchester, N.H., joins Harris Publishing Systems Corp., Melbourne, Fla., as product manager for editorial and page-design systems. William G. Marcum Jr., previously an executive with The Daily News in Longview, Wash., joins AdOne, New York City, as a regional general manager. Sam S. McKeel, formerly president, CEO and publisher of the Chicago Sun-Times, was named to the board of directors of Goss Graphic Systems Inc., Westmont, Ill.
