Debra Alward was named director of new media at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Howard Anderberg was named production manager of The Stuart (Fla.) News. He had served as the paper’s imaging and quality manager.

Chris K. Avetisian was named vice president of project management and production analysis for the Los Angeles Times.

Harriet Boyd was named vice president of information technology for the Los Angeles Times. She was the paper’s director of technology planning and advertising systems.

Cristian L. Edwards was named group vice president of business-to-business serv-ices for Times Company Digital, New York City.

Jerome Ferson was named operations director of the Duluth (Minn.) News-Tribune. He had served as the paper’s pre-press and systems director.

Howard I. Finberg, director of technology and information strategies for Central Newspapers Inc. in Phoenix, has taken on the additional role of vice president, CNI Ventures.

Jean Halle, formerly vice president of new-business development at The Sun in Baltimore, was named Times Mirror Interactive’s chief financial officer and vice president of strategic development.

Kim McCleary La France was named vice president of distribution for the Los Angeles Times.

Catherine Levene was named vice president of strategy and business development for Times Company Digital. She succeeds Chris Neimeth, who was named president and CEO of Real Media, New York City.

Leon Levitt, a former NAA staffer and vice president of circulation at The Arizona Republic in Phoenix, was named the paper’s executive vice president for online services.

Lincoln Millstein was promoted to executive vice president of Times Company Digital; he also will continue to head boston.com.

Christopher M. Schroeder was named CEO and publisher of Washingtonpost. Newsweek Interactive. He succeeds former WPNI CEO Marc Teren, who left to serve as CEO of Cahners Business Information.

Richard W. Stanton was named senior vice president and chief operations officer for the Los Angeles Times.

Jenny Trautman was promoted to director of information and technology for Cox Newspapers Inc. in Atlanta.

Barbara Weeks, formerly president and CEO of Tribune Co.’s 24-hour cable-news operation in Chicago, was named Tribune Interactive’s vice president of operations and programming.

Glenn Cruickshank, formerly director of Tribune Solutions in Salt Lake City, was named a senior manager with KPMG Consulting’s digital-asset-management practice.

Philip Jordan, formerly editorial-systems manager of the Los Angeles Times, has joined Geac Publishing Systems, Tampa, as Cybergraphic product manager.

Mark Reyna has joined Atex Media Solutions, Bedford, Mass., as vice president of sales, North American operations. Jose Quintana was named chief financial officer, and Terry Zysk was named vice president of North American installations.

Sharon E. Smith, formerly director of sales and marketing for the Pottsville (Pa.) Republican’s New Horizons Team, has taken a position with the media-services division of New York City-based Real Media.

Steve Trombino was named marketing director at Baseview Products Inc., Ann Arbor, Mich.

Eric Wolferman, formerly NAA senior vice president of technology, was named vice president and general manager of East Coast operations for System Integrators Inc. of Sacramento.
