Adeshina Selected for CTP Study

Tony Adeshina, quality assurance manager for The Plain Dealer in Cleveland, Ohio, has been awarded a fellowship to conduct research for an upcoming NAA/IFRA computer-to-plate study. Adeshina's background with The Plain Dealer, the Houston Chronicle and Palm Beach Newspapers includes product-integrity and improvement management, reproduction-material testing, coordinating activities in exploring new technologies, engraving-department management and electronic color-imaging-system program development and implementation. Adeshina received a B.S. in Technology from Florida A&M University in 1983 and a M.S. in Industrial Technology from Illinois State University in 1986. His education also includes studies at the British Printing Industries Federation in London and research projects on color separation, scanner operations and new technology developments in graphic arts.

The computer-to-plate study is part of an ongoing collaboration between NAA and IFRA to leverage resources and address common issues. Its results, expected in the spring of 1997, should provide a valuable resource for newspapers contemplating computer-to-plate technology. The project will include analyses of workflow issues, available products, economic practicality and resource needs. For more information, call NAA Media Technology Manager Dave Beck at (703) 648-1315 or e-mail beckd@naa.org.
