And the Winners Are...

Creativity triumphs over adversity for the winners of the 1996 TechNews Best Practices Awards

Inside every problem is the germ of a solution, and necessity really is the mother of invention. As proof we offer you the winners of the first annual TechNews Best Practices Awards. Although they work for newspapers of various sizes that serve vastly different communities, all have one thing in common--their winning techniques were triggered by problems...BIG problems.

Not only did our winners solve those problems, but they also set industry standards when they did:

TechNews created its Best Practices Awards to recognize excellence in newspaper operations. Our board of contributing editors, composed of senior managers from NAA's Technology Department, chose the winners after carefully reviewing and debating all nominations. Criteria were creativity, quantitative results and potential to benefit the newspaper industry.

The winning practices represent the triumph of innovation over common problems that grate on many, many newspapers. Perhaps you're suffering with such a problem right now--and perhaps one of these practices can help you solve it.

So pay close attention as, without further adieu, TechNews proudly presents the winners of our first annual Best Practices Awards.
