Because of the recent explosion in laptop-computer sales, the U.S. Center for Office Technology has developed The Laptop User's Guide--Practical Recommendations for the Road Warrior. The guide has 16 pages of tips and information on how to use a portable computer with maximum safety and comfort.
COT believes that the guide fills an important information gap and can save newspapers the time and expense of developing their own materials. It developed the booklet with the help of ergonomics expert Bryce Rutter, a principal of Metaphase Design Group. Rutter holds advanced degrees in industrial design and kinesiology (the study of human movement), and is the author of several books on ergonomic design.
