Be an EPW9er!

    Registration is now open for the ninth annual National Press PhotographersAssociation Electronic Photojournalism Workshop, Sept. 10-17, in Columbus, Ohio.

    Our purpose is to test and use the latest electronic publishing tools in alive, educational environment. We send teams of photographers, editors andobservers into the community to report--in words and pictures--timely stories ofwide interest.

    Back in our state-of-the-art-hotel-ballroom-we-call-a-newsroom, you'll edit,design and output your story, while contributing to this year's printedElectronic Times. Or, if you opt for the Web side, you'll be intimately involvedin the coverage, programming and design of multimedia stories as they come intothe newsroom.

    Attendees can register for the online track if they desire to workexclusively on multimedia assignments. Online participants will be trained in avariety of basic Web-authoring skills, including HTML markup, imaging for theWeb, gathering audio and video for Web and/or CD-ROM use, and multimediastorytelling techniques.

    EPW9 is a chance not only to use some of the newest software and hardwaretools, but also to work closely with an experienced vendor and editorial staffin solving the biggest problems of today's electronic-publishing world. It'sintense and exciting, and it just may be the best educational workshop you'llever attend.
