NEXPO's New Day

In a change from its traditional Saturday kickoff, NEXPO® 99 becomes a workweek event this year, opening Monday, June 14 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

"Opening the show on Monday will give us the opportunity to hold our general session on the first day of NEXPO," says Eric Wolferman, NAA senior vice president of technology.

Slated to present the keynote at that opening session is Dr. Charles M. Geschke, president, co-chairman and co-founder of Adobe Systems Inc., one of the pioneers of the desktop-publishing revolution.

The June 14-17 event will feature more than 210,000 square feet of exhibition space. More than 12,000 people attended NEXPO '98 in Orlando. Of those, 31 percent were first-time attendees, while another 37 percent had attended the exposition for at least three consecutive years.

Last year's show attracted 382 exhibitors occupying 209,700 square feet of exhibit space, up 9 percent from NEXPO '97.

For NEXPO '99 program information, contact Dawn Rhine at (703) 902-1844; e-mail, rhind@naa.org. For exhibit information, contact John Woodstock at (703) 902-1847; e-mail, woodj@naa.org.

General show information, along with highlights of last year's exhibition, are also available on NEXPO's standalone World Wide Web site, www.nexpo.com.
