XML Resources

If you want the full geek lowdown on Extensible Markup Language, the best place to start is http://www.w3.org/XML/, the World Wide Web Consortium's XML page. Here you'll find the proposed XML 1.0 definition, answers to frequently asked questions, recommended readings and discussion groups.

If you'd really rather know what XML can do for you today-or see how far Microsoft has jumped into all of this-check out http://www.microsoft.com/workshop/author/xml/ for the lowdown on Redmond's efforts. Here you'll find even more technical documents along with non-technical explanations of XML and plenty of samples, including a working Web auction site.

Both sites have extensive sets of links to other XML resources online.
